VIENNA, 15 April (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations (Vienna), Alexander Maisuradze, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career Mr. Maisuradze, who is also Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), has served in various capacities, among them:
Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva (2020–2024); Head of Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (2015–2020); Deputy Permanent Representative to the OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna (2012–2015); Deputy Head of Mission to NATO (2008–2012); Director, Department for Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006–2008); Deputy Director, Department for Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005–2006); Head of Arms Control and New Threats Division, Department of Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002–2005); Deputy Head of Disarmament and Arms Control Division, Military-Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000–2002); Second Secretary, Disarmament and Arms Control Division, Military-Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999–2000); and Attaché, Disarmament and Arms Control Division, Military-Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998–2000).
Mr. Maisuradze holds a Diploma from the Georgian Diplomatic Academy and a Diploma from the Georgian Agrarian University.
He speaks English, Georgian, Russian and Spanish.
