MIXED COMMISSION ON ICJ RULING OF 10 OCTOBER TO BRING
TOGETHER REPRESENTATIVES OF CAMEROON, NIGERIA
ON 1 DECEMBER IN YAOUNDÉ

NEW YORK, 27 November (UN Headquarters) -- The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

The Mixed Commission established by the Secretary-General on 15 November at the request of President Paul Biya and President Olusegun Obasanjo, to consider ways of following up on the 10 October ruling of the International Court of Justice, will have its first meeting in Yaoundé as of 1 December, under the chairmanship of Mr. Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah. Mr. Amadou Ali, Minister of Justice of Cameroon, and Prince Bola Ajibola, former Minister of Justice and former High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, will head their respective delegations to the Commission.
