SECURITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT
NEW YORK, 3 September (UN Headquarters) -- Following is today’s press statement on Western Sahara by Security Council President Emyr Jones Parry (United Kingdom):
Members of the Council welcomed the 1 September release by the Polisario of 243 Moroccan prisoners of war and reaffirmed the Council’s call in resolution 1495 that the Polisario Front release without further delay all remaining POWs in compliance with international humanitarian law.
