PRESS STATEMENT ON IRAQ BY
SECURITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT
NEW YORK, 8 December (UN Headquarters) -- Following is today’s statement to the press on Iraq by Security Council President Stefan Tafrov (Bulgaria):
Members of the Security Council condemn in the strongest terms the repeated attacks in Iraq on foreign and Iraqi nationals and international and Coalition personnel, including those perpetrated on 12, 29 and 30 November 2003 against Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Colombian personnel, in which lives were claimed and people injured.
Members of the Security Council express their deepest sympathy and condolences to the peoples and authorities concerned and to all the victims of the attacks and their families.
Members of the Security Council urge all States to fully cooperate in the efforts to find and bring to justice the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these attacks.
Members of the Security Council reaffirm the need to implement fully Council resolution 1511 and urge all States to cooperate to that end.
