President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in August

NEW YORK, 30 July (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for August:

Security Council

Andrey I. Denisov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, succeeds Mihnea Motoc, Permanent Representative of Romania, as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Senior Colonel Mu Changlin of China succeeds Lieutenant General Walter L. Sharp of the United States as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
