New Permanent Representative of Mongolia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 7 January (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Luvsandagva Enkhtaivan, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Mr. Enkhtaivan also serves as Permanent Representative to other International Organizations based in Vienna, and as Ambassador of Mongolia to Austria.

Prior to his current appointment Mr. Enkhtaivan served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy in Mongolia. Between 1990 and 2003 he was Professor, Head of the Economics Department at the Mongolian Academy for Public Administration and Management in Ulan Bator. From 1983 to 1989 Mr. Enkhtaivan was Lecturer at the Institute of Youth Education in Berlin, Germany, and served as Economist at the State Planning Commission in Ulan Bator before that.

Mr. Enkhtaivan earned his Ph.D. in Macroeconomics at the University of Economics in Berlin. His B.A. and M.A. degrees in Econometrics are from the same University.

Mr. Enkhtaivan is married and has three children.
