New Permanent Representative of Kuwait Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 12 May (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Fawzi Abdulaziz Al-Jasem, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General of UNOV.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Jasem served as Ambassador of Kuwait to the Republic of Korea. From 1999 to 2001, he was Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps. Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Jasem has served in various capacities abroad as well as at the Foreign Ministry of Kuwait. He was Ambassador of Kuwait to eight different countries, including Poland, Russia and Iran, and served at his country’s Embassies in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, China and France.

Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Jasem holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Baghdad University in Iraq.

He speaks Arabic, English, French, Russian and Serbo-Croatian.
