New Permanent Representative of the Netherlands Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 19 May (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Justus Jonathan De Visser, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

VIENNA, 19 May (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Justus Jonathan De Visser, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. De Visser served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Mr. De Visser had held several posts in the field of international relations. He served in the following capacities: Ambassador to Poland and Belarus (1999-2001) Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Netherlands to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (1994-1998). Between 1990-1994, he was Director of the European Integration Department.  He also served as Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands’ Embassy in Moscow (1984-1987). From 1980-1984, he was Deputy Director of the Atlantic Co-operation and Security Affairs Department. Mr. De Visser began his diplomatic career in 1968, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the European Integration Department, The Hague.

Mr. De Visser holds a degree in Law from the University of Utrecht. 

He is married and has two children.
