New Permanent Representative of Bolivia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 2 July (UN Information Service) -- The New Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Horacio Bazoberry Otero, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Bazoberry served as Director General of the International Organizations Department at the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Bazoberry had held several posts within the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 1997 and 2001, he served as Minister Counsellor at the Bolivian Embassy to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Bazoberry worked as Coordinator for thematic issues at the Secretariat Pro Tempore of the Rio Group.

Further, he has also held the post of the First Secretary at the Bolivian Embassy in the United States, and has also worked at the Central American Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bolivia.

Mr. Bazoberry holds a degree in Law and Political Sciences from the University Mayor de San Andres (Bolivia), a Master’s Degree in International Law, Commerce and Banking from the American University’s Law School (USA) and a Diplomatic Degree from the Diplomatic School “Rafael Bustillos” of the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
