New Permanent Representative of Malaysia Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 23 February (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Rajmah Hussain, will present her credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, UNOV.
Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Hussain was serving as Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland (2002-05).
Ms. Hussain has served in many capacities in the course of her career, including as: Ambassador of Malaysia to France (1998-2002); Minister/Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Malaysia in Washington D.C., United States of America (1994-98); Special Officer to the Secretary-General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-94); Principal Assistant Secretary, Security Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1988-91); Assistant Secretary, Political Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1982-85) and Second Secretary, Embassy of Malaysia in Brussels, Belgium (1980-82).
Ms. Hussain completed her Masters Degree and PhD in International Relations at the University of London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
