New Permanent Representative of Estonia Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 1 July (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Estonia to the United Nations (Vienna), Katrin Saarsalu, presented her credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Saarsalu was serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Austria; and as Non-resident Ambassador to Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland (since 2003).
Ms. Saarsalu has also served as Director General of the European Integration Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia (1999 – 2003); Counsellor, Estonian Mission to the European Union in Brussels (1996 – 1999); and Counsellor of the Division of International Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia (1991 – 1996).
Ms. Saarsalu completed her Masters’ degree in Advanced European Studies at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
