New Permanent Representative of Sweden Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 26 September (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations (Vienna), Hans Lundborg presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Lundborg served as Deputy Director General, Head of Department for Global Security, at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2001-05).

Mr. Lundborg served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Deputy Director General, Head of Department for Global Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999-2000); Minister, Swedish Delegation to the United Nations (New York) (1996-99); Director, Deputy Head of the Department for Multilateral Development, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (1994-96); Deputy Director, Department for Multilateral Development, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (1991-94); Deputy Director, Coordinator of Swedish Drug Policy, Ministry for Health and Social Affairs (1986-91), and as Head of Section, Ministry for Health and Social Affairs (1977-86).

Mr. Lundborg completed his studies at the University of Stockholm. He is married and has two children.
