New Permanent Representative of Myanmar Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 29 September (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations (Vienna), Mr. Tin Win, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Win was serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany (since June 2005).

Mr. Win has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Israel (2001-05); and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Nepal. Mr. Win also served in the Defence Service in various capacities up to the rank of Colonel (1971-1999).

Mr. Win obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Science at the Defence Services Academy in Myanmar. He is married and has two children.
