New Permanent Representative of Georgia Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 13 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations (Vienna), Victor Dolidze, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Dolidze was serving as Director in the Department of International Security, National Security Council of Georgia (since 2004).
Mr. Dolidze has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Counsellor, Mission of Georgia to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Brussels (2001-04); Counsellor, Embassy of Georgia to Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg and Mission of Georgia to the European Communities and NATO (1999-2001); Head of Bilateral Relations Division, Department for Politico-Military Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tbilisi (1998-99); and Deputy Head of NATO Division, Department for Politico-Military Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tbilisi (1997-98).
Mr. Dolidze obtained a Master's degree in International Law and International Relations from the Tbilisi State University in 1995. He has pursued further studies at the NATO Defense College in Rome, the Swedish National Defense College, the Defense Resource Management Institute at Monterey, California, and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
He is married and has one child.
