New Permanent Representative of Guinea Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 11 November (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Guinea to the United Nations (Vienna), El Hadj Aboubacar Dione, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna.
Mr. Dione is currently serving as Ambassador of Guinea to Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Holy See, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland and Sweden (since 2003).
Mr. Dione has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Ambassador of Guinea to Libya and Malta, Tripoli (1999-2003); First Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Guinea to the United Nations, New York (1993-99); Counsellor in charge of Political Affairs, Embassy of Guinea to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh (1989-93); First Secretary, Embassy of Guinea to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh (1985-89); Administrative and Finance Officer, National Custom Services, Ministry of Finance (1982-85); and Director, Administration and Finance, Air Guinée (1979-82).
Mr. Dione studied Economics, Finance and International Organizations at the École Supérieur d'Administration. He obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Diplôme d'Études Supérieures from the Université de Conakry.
He is married and has three children.
