President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in February
NEW YORK, 31 January (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for February:
Security Council
John R. Bolton, Permanent Representative of the United States, succeeds Augustine P. Mahiga, Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania, as President of the Security Council.
Military Staff Committee
Major General Peter Gilchrist (United Kingdom) succeeds Lieutenant General Nikolay M. Uvarov (Russian Federation) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
