President of United Nations Security Council and Chairman of Military Staff Committee in August

NEW YORK, 31 July (UN Headquarters) -- In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the President of the United Nations Security Council and the Chairman of the Military Staff Committee for August:

Security Council

Nana Effah-Apenteng, Permanent Representative of Ghana, succeeds Jean-Marc de La Sablière, Permanent Representative of France, as President of the Security Council.

Military Staff Committee

Lieutenant General V. E. Renuart (United States) succeeds Colonel Jonathan S. Lloyd (United Kingdom) as Chairman of the Military Staff Committee.
