New Permanent Representative of Malaysia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 25 August (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations (Vienna), Mohd. Arshad bin Manzoor Hussain, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. bin Manzoor Hussain was serving as Undersecretary, Americas Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia (2003-06).

Mr. bin Manzoor Hussain has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Undersecretary, Special Functions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003), High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia (2001-03), Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines (1999-2001), Undersecretary, Southeast Asia and Pacific Division (1996-99) and Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City (1992-96).

Mr. bin Manzoor Hussain studied at the University of Malaya and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. He is married and has three children.
