New Permanent Representative of Mali Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 30 November (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Mali to the United Nations (Vienna), Sidiki Lamine Sow, has presented his credentials to Sergio Camacho, Acting Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Sow was serving as Inspector of Diplomatic and Consular Services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mali (since 2003).

Mr. Sow has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Deputy Director, Directorate of International Cooperation (2000-03), Acting Head, Asia and Oceania Department, Directorate of Political Affairs (1998 - 2000), First Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Mali to the United Nations, New York (1995- 97), as well as First Counsellor, Embassy of Mali to Ghana (1994- 95).  

Mr. Sow studied at the University of Beijing, China, and obtained a Master's degree in Chinese Literature and Philology. He holds a Diploma in International Relations from the Paris Institute of Political Studies and a Diploma in International Economic Relations from the International Institute of Public Administration of Paris, as well as a specialized higher studies Diploma in International Administration from the University of Paris.

He is married and has two children.
