New Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 21 February (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (Vienna), Alexander Vladimirovich Zmeyevskiy, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Zmeyevskiy was serving as Director, Department on New Challenges and Threats, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (since 2001).
Mr. Zmeyevskiy has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (1996 - 2000), Deputy Director, Legal Department, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (1993 - 96), and at the International Law Department, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (1991 - 93).
He is married and has one child.
