New Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 9 May (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations (Vienna), Youssoufou Bamba, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Bamba was serving as Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Kingdom (since 2001).
Mr. Bamba has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to the United States (2000 - 01), Deputy Minister for Foreign Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998 - 99), Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations, New York (1996 - 98), and Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Japan and Republic of Korea (1994 - 96).
Mr. Bamba holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Abidjan and a Diploma from the Institut International d'Administration Publique. Mr. Bamba is married and has five children.
