New Permanent Representative of Libya Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 3 September (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Libya to the United Nations (Vienna), Ahmed A. Menesi, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Menesi was serving as Minister of Finance of Libya (since 2006).
Mr. Menesi has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Governor, Central Bank of Libya (2001 - 2006), Chairman and General Manager, Wahda Bank (2000 - 2001), Head, Libyan Economists Association (1990 - 1999) and Professor of Economics, University of Garyounis, Libya (1972 - 2001).
Mr. Menesi holds a doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Cologne, Germany, and has completed postdoctoral studies at Stanford University, United States.
