New Permanent Representative of Serbia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 12 September (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Serbia to the United Nations (Vienna), Miroslava Beham, presented her credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Beham was serving as Deputy Head of Mission of Serbia and Montenegro to the OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna and as Chargé d'Affaires of the Mission of Serbia to the OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna (2005 - 06).

Ms. Beham has served in many capacities in the course of her career, including as: Associate, Center for Liberal-Democratic Studies, Belgrade (2003 - 04), Researcher, German Peace Research Foundation (2002 - 04), Member of the Yugoslav Commission for Truth and Reconciliation (2002 - 03), Research Associate, Institute for Communication and Technology Research, Solingen, Germany (1998 - 2005), Correspondent, Alternative Media Network AIM and Editor-in-Chief of the periodical Balkan Press, Munich (1993 - 98), Associate, Bavarian Ministry of Culture, Munich, and Editor-in-Chief, literacy journal Literaturblatt, Munich (1991 - 94), and Visiting Lecturer, German School of Journalism and Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich (1989 - 91).

Ms. Beham holds a Master's degree in Philosophy, Political Science and Literature from Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, and a diploma in Languages from the Academy for Languages, Munich. She has two children.
