New Permanent Representative of Romania Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 2 October (UN Information Service) -- The new Permanent Representative of Romania to the United Nations (Vienna), Cornel Ferutã, presented his credentials today to Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Ferutã was serving as Director, Minister's Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romania (since 2005).

Mr. Ferutã has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Director, Western Balkans and Regional Cooperation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romania (2004), Diplomat, Permanent Mission of Romania to the International Organisations in Vienna (2000 - 04), Diplomat, Minister's Cabinet, OSCE and Regional Cooperation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romania (1998 - 2000), and Foreign Policy Editor (1994 - 97).

Mr. Ferutã holds a Master's degree in International Relations, Bucharest University. He is married and has two children.
