New Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 1 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations (Vienna), His Highness Prince Mansour Bin Khalid A. Alfarhan Al Saud, presented his credentials today to Mr. Franz Baumann, Acting Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Al Saud was serving as Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Prague (since 2002)

Mr. Al Saud has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as: Counsellor, Department of Western Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia (1997-2002), Chargé d'Affaires, Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, New York (1995-97), Member of the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, New York (1986-95).

Mr. Al Saud holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the Tufts University, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Medford/Boston, United States, a Master's degree in Near Eastern Studies from the New York University, United States and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He is married and has four children.
