New Permanent Representative of Liberia Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 30 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Liberia to the United Nations (Vienna), H.E. Ms. Sedia Massaquoi-Bangoura, presented her credentials today to Mr. Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Ms. Massaquoi-Bangoura is also serving as Ambassador to Germany, a post which she assumed in 2007, as well as Treasurer of the Board, Liberian Women Initiative and Member of the Board, Liberian Youth Network.
Ms. Massaquoi-Bangoura has served in many capacities in the course of her career, among them: Deputy Minister of Labour for Manpower Planning and Development and Senior Programme Coordinator, Office of the President, University of Liberia. She worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Volunteers (UNV), Bonn, Germany, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva, Switzerland.
Ms. Massaquoi-Bangoura studied Linguistics at the University de France Comte in Besançon, France and International Relations at the United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, United States.
Ms. Massaquoi-Bangoura is married and has three children.
