New Permanent Representative of Tunisia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 29 January (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the United Nations (Vienna), H. E. Mr. Mohamed Habib Haddad presented his credentials today to Mr. Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General, United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

Mr. Haddad has served in many capacities in the course of his career, among them: Member, Central Committee, Rassemblement Constitutionnel Démocratique (since 2003); Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Water Resources (2002-08); Governor of Nabeul; Governor of Kasserine (1998-2000); Member of Parliament (1989-99); President, Chamber of Tunisian Engineers (1990-98); President, Commission for Financial Planning and Regional Development, Chamber of Members of the Parliament (1995-98); President, Council of the Union of Arab Engineers (1997); Member, Executive Office, Chamber of Tunisian Engineers (1989-90); Vice-President, Young Economic Chamber of Zaghouan (1989); Regional Director, Office of Agricultural Research and Production; Regional Director, Properties Office of Tunis South; and Regional Commissioner, Agricultural Development in the Governorates of Siliana, Zaghouan and Ariana.

Mr. Haddad holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from a University in Belgium.

He is married and has two children.
