VIENNA, 26 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations (Vienna), Nongnuth Phetcharatana, presented her credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Antonio Maria Costa.
Ms. Phetcharatana is also serving as Ambassador to Austria, a post which she assumed this year.
Ms. Phetcharatana has served in many capacities in the course of her career, among them: Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs (from 2004), Ambassador attached to the Ministry, Office of the Permanent Secretary (from 2003), Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, Thai Embassy, Washington D.C. Ms. Phetcharatana holds a Master's degree in Political Science from Indiana University, United States and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
She is married.
