New Permanent Representative of the United States Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 31 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations (Vienna), Glynn Davies, presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Antonio Maria Costa.

Mr. Davies is also serving as Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Mr. Davies has served in many capacities in the course of his career, among them: Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs; Acting Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor; Deputy Assistant Secretary for European Affairs; Political Director for the United States Presidency of the G-8; Deputy Chief of Mission, United States Embassy in London; Executive Secretary, National Security Council Staff; Deputy Spokesman and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, State Department; Director, State Department Operations Center; Deputy Political Counselor, United States Embassy in Paris; Deputy Political Counselor, European Bureau's Office of European Security and Political Affairs; Special Assistant to Secretary of State George Shultz.

Mr. Davies holds a Master's degree from the National Defense University and a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
