New Permanent Representative of Kuwait Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 12 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations (Vienna), Mohammed Saad Al-Sallal, presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Antonio Maria Costa.

Mr. Al-Sallal has served in many capacities in the course of his career, among them: Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (since 2007), Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (2005-07), Ambassador to the Netherlands (2004-07), Ambassador to the Russian Federation (2001-04), Ambassador to Lebanon (1998-2001), Ambassador to Spain (1996-98), Non-Resident Ambassador then Minister Plenipotentiary to Ecuador (1991-96), First Secretary then Counsellor, Permanent Mission to the United Nations (News York) (1985-91), First Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984-85), First Secretary, Ministry of Finance (1981-84), First Secretary, Embassy in Moscow, Union of Socialist Soviet Republics (1980-81), Second Secretary, Embassy in Brazil (1977-80), Third then Second Secretary, Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1975-77), Third Secretary, Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon (1975).

Mr. Al-Sallal holds a Master's degree in Economic Science and Commerce from the Leningrad State University.

He is married.
