New Permanent Representative of Estonia
Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 12 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Estonia, Eve-Külli Kala, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Antonio Maria Costa.
Ms. Kala is also serving as Ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Switzerland.
Ms. Kala has served in many capacities in the course of her career, among them: Director-General, Personnel Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006-09), Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2002-06), Director, Division for Central and Northern Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999-2001), Deputy Head of Mission, Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France (1996-99), Second then First Secretary, Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992-96), Consultant, JEPSAIL Finland Ltd. (1990-91); Assistant to Managing Director, EKE-SADOLIN S.P. (1989-90) and Teacher of English and German language, Saue Gymnasium (1985-89).
Ms. Kala holds a Master's degree in English and German Philology from Tallinn University, a Diploma in Foreign Service Programme from Oxford University and a Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
She speaks Estonian, English, Finnish, German and Russian.
