New Permanent Representative of Spain
Presents Credentials
VIENNA, 14 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Spain, Carmen Buján Freire, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Ms. Buján has served in various capacities in the course of her diplomatic career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, among them: Director General for Strategic Affairs and Terrorism (2008-2010); Counselor, Embassy of Spain in Buenos Aires (2006-2008); Deputy Director General for International Affairs of Terrorism (2005-2006); Advisory Member in the Coordination of Spain's Participation in the United Nations Security Council (2003-2005); Head of the Schengen Area, General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Abroad Spaniards Protection (2002-2003); Counselor, Embassy of Spain in Budapest (1998-2002); Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Spain in Islamabad (1996-1998), Head of Programming Service, Technical Cabinet in the General Secretariat of Exterior Policy (1994-1996).
Ms. Buján holds a law degree.
