New Permanent Representative of Lithuania
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 12 November (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Lithuania, Giedrius Puodziunas, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr Puodyiunas has served in various capacities in the course of his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, among them: Director of the State and Diplomatic Protocol Department (2001-2006); Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Poland (2000-2001); First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Poland (1997-2000); Second Secretary/First Secretary, Central European Division, Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1993-1997).

Mr Puodyiunas is also Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Austria.

He graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in history.

Mr Puodyiunas is married with three children.
