Internet Governance Forum to Meet in Vilnius from 14 to 17 September 2010
Media invited to attend or participate remotely
VILNIUS/VIENNA, 13 September (UN Information Service) - More than 1,200 representatives from 115 countries will be attending the fifth meeting of the Internet Governance Forum in Vilnius, Lithuania from 14-17 September. They will be joined by others who will actively taking part in the Forum's discussions and workshops via remote participation.
The Internet Governance Forum brings together representatives of governments, international organizations, the Internet community, the private sector, civil society, and the media to discuss Internet-related public policy and governance issues. Some of the topics to be discussed are the management of critical Internet resources, access and diversity, security, openness and privacy, Internet Governance for development (IG4D), the way forward for Internet governance and the emerging issue of cloud computing.
Media representatives are invited to attend the following:
1. Opening of the Conference with the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) Jomo Kwame Sundaram and Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Eligijus Masiulis:

All sessions of the Internet Governance Forum are open to the media.
Facilities for journalists at the Lithiuanian Exhibition and Conference Centre (Litexpo)
There is a working area for journalists in the Media Centre with Wireless Internet access. There are 10 work stations for electronic media in a special room in the Media Centre with access to HOST TV signal PAL SDI (audio embedded). Here journalists can watch the plenary room sessions and also get feeds from the press conference room and also highlights from the best interviews and video information about Lithuania.
