New Permanent Representative of Cuba
VIENNA, 12 May (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Marsán Aguilera has served in various capacities in the Cuban Federation of University Students and the National Committee of the Young Communist League during the course of his career. He was also Head of the International Relations Department of the Young Communist League's National Committee (2000-2003); Official at the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (2003-2006); and Coordinator of the Europe Section of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (2006-2010). He has represented the Cuban Federation of University Students, the Young Communist League and the Cuban Communist Party at international events as part of official delegations.
Mr. Marsán Aguilera has studied Engineering in Management Automated Systems and a Masters course in International Political Relations. He is married with two sons.
