New Permanent Representative of Sweden
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 22 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Sweden, Nils Daag, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Daag has served in various capacities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the course of his career, among them: Deputy Director General, Head Security Policy Department (2006 - 2010); Ambassador to Ireland (2002 - 2006); Ambassador, Head Permanent Delegation of Sweden to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Vienna (1997 - 2002); Deputy Director General, Head of Department for International and Security Affairs, Ministry of Defense (1993 - 1997); Ambassador to Zimbabwe (1990 - 1992); Political Counselor, London (1986 - 1990); and Head of American Section (MFA), PA to Political Director (1982 - 1986).
Mr. Daag holds a Master's Degree in Economics. He also studied Political Science and Modern History at the University of Stockholm. He speaks English, German and French and is married.
