New Permanent Representative of Belarus
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 14 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus, Valery Voronetsky, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vorontesky served in various capacities, among them: Ambassador to Austria and Croatia and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna (since October 2011); Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006 - 2011); Ambassador to Slovakia (2002 - 2006); Head of the Department of Foreign Policy (2000 - 2002); Counsellor, Embassy in Belgium and Mission to the European Community (1996 - 2000); Foreign Policy Advisor, Administration of the President (1995 - 1996).

Mr. Voronetsky holds a degree in International Economic Relations and a PhD in Economics. He graduated from the Belarusian National Technical University, and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. He speaks English, Slovak and basic German. He is married and has two children.
