New Permanent Representative of the European Union
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 20 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the European Union, Györgyi Margit Martin Zanathy, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Ms. Martin Zanathy is the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the International Organizations in Vienna as of October 2011. During her career with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs she has served in various capacities, among them: Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism (2009-2011); Chair of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (2009-2010); Chair of the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation (2008-2009); Head of Task Force on Transparency, Wassenaar Arrangement (2007); Chairperson, 49th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (2005-2006); Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN and other International Organizations in Vienna (2005-2009).
Ms. Martin Zanathy graduated from the Eötvös Lóránd University of Budapest Law school where she has also worked as lecturer and Assistant Professor. She speaks English, French and Russian and is married with two children.
