UNIDO Least Developed Countries Ministerial Conference opens in Vienna tomorrow

VIENNA, 23 November (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) - The implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action by the Least Developed Countries' (LDCs) will be the focus of a UNIDO Ministerial-level Conference that opens in Vienna tomorrow.

The two-day event will bring together 35 ministers of industry and trade from the LDCs, as well as representatives of international organizations and experts in the field. The Conference will be attended by the UNIDO Director-General, Kandeh K. Yumkella, and the Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, Cheick Sidi Diarra.

Journalists are invited to cover the event which opens at 10:00, on Thursday, 24 November, in Board Room A, M Building of the Vienna International Centre.
