New Permanent Representative of Malta
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 21 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Malta, Colin Scicluna, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Scicluna has been Permanent Representative of Malta to the OSCE since 2012. During his career he has served in various capacities, among them: Political Advisor to the European Union (EU) Special Representative to the Middle East Peace Process (2011-12); Advisor, Policy Unit of the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU on Mediterranean and Middle East issues (2006-10); First Counsellor, Deputy Permanent Representative, Mission of Malta to the UN, New York (2004-06); Senior Legal Officer, Directorate for Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valletta (2003-04); Negotiations Co-ordinator, EU Negotiations Secretariat, Office of the Prime Minister, Valletta (2000-03) and Counsellor, Mission of Malta to the EU, Brussels (1999-2000).

Mr. Scicluna holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Malta and a Master's Degree in International Politics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He speaks Maltese, English, Italian, French and Dutch. Mr. Scicluna is married and has two children.
