New Permanent Representative of Austria
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 5 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Austria, Christine Stix-Hackl, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career with the Ministry for European and International Affairs she has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador to Luxembourg (2007-2011); Member of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg (2000-2006); Consul-General in Zurich (Switzerland) (2000); Permanent Agent of Austria in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union and Head of Austrian delegation in the EU Council Working Group on the Court of Justice of the European Union, chair of the Working Group during first Austrian Presidency of the European Union (1995-2000); Head of the European Union Legal Service in the Federal Ministry (1992-2000); Legal Service of the European Commission, Brussels (1989); Expert in the Office of the Legal Adviser (1987-1988); Deputy Head of Department for Southern Europe (1985-1986).

Ms. Stix-Hackl holds a PhD in Law from Vienna University and a Diploma in European Law from the College of Europe in Bruges.

She has taught at Vienna University, Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Danube University Krems, Austrian Federal Administrative Academy, University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and the University of Saarbrücken (Germany) and published on European Union topics.
