New Permanent Representative of the Netherlands Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 22 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Netherlands, Peter P. van Wulfften Palthe, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador in Madrid (2009-2012); Ambassador in Berlin (2005-2009); Director-General for Regional Policy and Consular Affaires (2001-2005); Director Movement of Person, Migration and Consular Division (1998-2001); Deputy Head of Mission, Permanent Representation to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva (1994-1998); Head of Legal Affairs, International Organisations Division (1990-1994); Chargé d'Affaires, Embassy in Havana (1988); First Secretary, Permanent Representation to the United Nations in New York (1986-1990); First Secretary, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in Manila (1983-1986); Second Secretary, Embassy in Bogotá (1981-1983); Third Secretary, Embassy in Yaoundé (1979-1981); Policy Officer European Affairs Division (1977-1979).
He served as Chairman of the UN Human Rights Commission in 1994.
Mr. van Wulfften Palthe holds degrees in Political Sciences and International Public Law.
