New Permanent Representative of India
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 30 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of India, Ramachandran Swaminathan, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which he joined in 1980, he has served in various duty stations and capacities, among them:
Ambassador, Embassy of India, Egypt (2009-2012); Ambassador, New Delhi (2006-2009); Vienna Joint Secretary, Deputation with IAEA (2001-2006); Counsellor, High Commission of India, Colombo (1998-2001); Counsellor, Embassy of India, Thimphu (1995-1998); Secretary/Director with AEC, Bombay (1991-1995); First Secretary, Embassy of India, Paris (1988-1991); Second Secretary/First Secretary, Embassy of India, Doha (1984-1987); Third Secretary, Embassy of India, Egypt (1982-1984).
Mr. Swaminathan holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering and is proficient in Arabic. He is married with one son and one daughter.
