New Permanent Representative of Jamaica
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 19 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Jamaica, Wayne McCook, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. McCook has served in various capacities during his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, among them:
Permanent Representative, World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the Offices of the United Nations and Specialised Agencies in Geneva, Vienna and Rome (2011-12); Head of Policy Planning (2010-11); Undersecretary Foreign Trade (2009-10); Ambassador to China (2005-08); Senior Director, Foreign Trade Department (2002-05); Director, Caribbean and Americas Department (2001-02); Minister/Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy to the United States (1998-2001); Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York (1996-98); Executive Director Broadcasting Commission (1995-96); Director, Information Department (1994-95); Information Attaché, Embassy to the United States (1987-93); Information Attaché, Jamaican High Commission, Canada (1985-87); Administrative Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (1984-85).
Mr. McCook speaks English and French. He holds a Master's degree in International Relations and a Jurist Doctor.
He is married and has two children.
