New Permanent Representative of Bulgaria
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 29 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Bulgaria, Svetoslav Spassov, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Spassov currently serves as Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and other international organizations in Vienna.
During his career, Mr. Spassov has served in various capacities, among them:
Political Advisor of the Prime Minister (2009-12); Secretary of the Interdepartmental Council on the Military Industrial Complex and Mobilisation Readiness of the Country, Council of Ministers (2009-12); Assistant Professor, Department of National and Regional Security, University of National and World Economy/Sofia and Lecturer at various military academies (2009-12); Member of Parliament, Secretary of Parliament (2001-09).
Mr. Spassov holds a PhD in Military-Political Security Issues and Master's Degrees in History and International Economic Relations. He speaks Bulgarian, English and Russian.
He is married and has one child.
