New Permanent Representative of the United States of America
Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 13 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the United States of America, Joseph E. Macmanus, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Since Mr. Macmanus entered the Foreign Service in 1986 he has served in various capacities, among them:
Minister Counselor, Executive Assistant to the Secretary of State (2008-11 and in 2012); Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs (2011-12); Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs (2005-08); various positions, Department of State for Legislative Affairs (2003-08); Assistant to the Deputy Director, US Information Agency (1995-99); various Public Diplomacy positions in Mexico, El Salvador, Poland, Belgium and at the US Information Agency headquarters, Washington DC (1986-2003).
Mr. Macmanus holds a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Information Science from the State University of New York.
