VIENNA, 7 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Mongolia, Gunaajav Batjargal, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Yury Fedotov.
During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which he joined in 1991 Mr. Batjargal has served in various capacities among them:
Director, Department of Policy Planning and Research (2009-present) and since 2008 Political Focal Point for Mongolia in the Global Environmental Facility; Counsellor then Deputy Director, Department of Multilateral Cooperation (2007-2008); Counsellor, Embassy of Mongolia in the Republic of Austria/Permanent Mission of Mongolia in Vienna (2004-2006); Economic Affairs officer then Deputy Director, Department of Multilateral Cooperation (2001-2003). He has also served in the Mongolian Embassy in the United Kingdom (1997-2000).
Mr. Batjargal finished his graduate studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University) and his postgraduate studies at the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.
Mr. Batjargal is married and has two daughters. He speaks English and Russian.
