VIENNA, 8 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Montenegro Slavica Milačić presented her credentials today to the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Mazlan Othman.
During her career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which she joined in 1984, Ms. Milačić has served in various capacities, among them:
State Secretary for European Integration (2011-2012); Chief Political Adviser to the Prime Minister (2010-2011); Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) (2007-2010); Head of Permanent Mission to the European Union (2006-2010); Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister on Economic Affairs and European Integration (2004-2006); Minister for International Economic Relations and European Integration (2003-2004); Head of Montenegrin Mission to the European Union (2000-2003); Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs (1997-2000); Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs (1997); Deputy Foreign Minister (1994-1997); Senior Adviser (1990-1994); and Adviser (1987-1990).
Ms. Milačić studied at the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica.
