VIENNA, 15 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Honduras, Efraín Díaz Arrivillaga, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Yury Fedotov.
Prior to his appointment as Permanent Representative, Mr. Díaz Arrivillaga has been serving as Ambassador of Honduras to Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Turkey since 2010.
During his career Mr. Díaz Arrivillaga has served in various capacities, among them:
Professor of International Relations at the Catholic University of Honduras (2010); Deputy to the Central American Parliament (1991-1996); Deputy to the Honduran National Congress (1982-1990); Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the Universidad Nacional Autònoma de Honduras (1977-1981)
Mr. Díaz Arrivillaga was running as a Presidential candidate in 1989, and has also worked as independent consultant (1980-2010) dealing with economic and agricultural planning, research, and development.
Mr. Díaz Arrivillaga has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Georgetown University, Washington and a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University, Kansas.
