New Permanent Representative of Croatia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 17 April (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Croatia, Dubravka Šimonović, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which she joined in 1994, Ms. Šimonović has served in various capacities, among them:

Member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) Committee (2010-2013), Member of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Advisory Group of Eminent Persons (2010-2011), Co-Chairperson of the Council of Europe Committee working on the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (2008-2010), Head of Human Rights Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002-2010), Minister Plenipotentiary, Permanent Mission of Croatia to the United Nations, New York (1998-2002), Deputy Consul General of Croatia, New York (1997-1998), Head of the Department for Human Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-1996), Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister (1992-1994), Head of Department for Legal and Administrative Services, Institute  ''Vuk Vrhovac'', Zagreb (1988-1992), Coordinator of legal affairs, ''Universiade 1987'', Zagreb (1986-1988).

Ms. Šimonović holds is a Doctor of Law (PhD) from the University of Zagreb.

She is married and has two children.
